The Summer Someday List

Quick game, ten minutes, tonight.

Set a timer. Each of you writes down as many things as you can think of that you'd love to do together before the summer runs out. Don't overthink it. Concerts, day trips, a dumb mini-golf night, that taco place across town. Whoever's got the longer list wins.

Then swap and read them out loud. You'll find a few that show up on both. You might find a few you had no idea they were into.

After that pick one and book it before you go to bed. A real date, on a real day.

Bonus: Keep the lists. When you're staring at each other on a Friday with no plan, you've already got a dozen.

P.S. Decide what the winner wins before you both start 😉

Ask Mode

With people we barely know, we ask questions. With the person we know best, we quietly stop.

Warren Berger in puts it plainly in The Book of Beautiful Questions: "When we're close to people and know them well, we tend not to ask them questions."

His fix is a small one. Shift away from advising, correcting, and giving your take, and back toward asking + listening. He says that move alone can change a relationship.

Try out Ask Mode this week and see how it goes. You need one honest question, asked because you actually want to know.

Level it up: Pick something you assume you already know the answer to. Ask it anyway. See if you're right.

Connecting Conversations

"The first duty of love is to listen."
~Paul Tillich

This weekend, try asking your significant other:

  • How can I show you that you come first to me?

  • What's the worst piece of advice I've ever given you?

  • What's your favorite part of my body now?

Before you go: Here are 3 ways to connect

  1. Conversation Sparks - Answer a few quick questions and get 5 conversation starters built around your relationship. Limited time.

  2. Mental Load Makeover ($199) - If you're carrying the whole week in your head, this is for you. Dinner, the schedule, the running list that never quite ends. In 60 minutes on Zoom, one-on-one, I'll show you how AI can take some of that off your plate, built around how your week actually runs. No tech skills needed.

  3. Free Love Languages Tactical Guide - Over 40+ ideas on how to ‘speak’ your partners love language.
