Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
How would you describe our first date in one word?
What would your twelve-year-old self think of your life now?
What do I love that most people dislike?
Date Night In: Fancy Like
If you want to skip the crowded Valentine’s night restaurants you can bring the magic of going out for a date night… home.
To make this week’s date night special, I encourage you to get dressed up like you’re going out to your favorite restaurant or bar.
Take stock of your wardrobe: is there an outfit you haven’t worn for a while but love?
How about something you never have the occasion for?
These are the perfect options!
Fancy Like Dinner Date
Treat this date night like a special night out.
Plan your outfits, the menu and create a special setting.
Here are a few things to consider:
Will you have a theme (black tie, Victorian romance, cowboy, old-world ball?)
Will you choose an existing outfit or buy something new?
Will you cook (together?) or order door dash?
Will you make pre-dinner cocktails?
As for the setting, what can you do to make your dining room just a bit more special?
Clear any clutter
Bring out your best dinnerware (bonus if it’s something you rarely use)
Light candles around the room
Buy fresh flowers for the table
Create a romantic playlist for the evening
Dim the lights if you can
And, of course, don’t bring your phones to the table!
Budget: $25 for fresh flowers + Door dash (if ordering)
Thoughtful Idea: Post Valentine’s
To some degree everyone expects a date / romance etc for Valentine’s which is all fine and dandy.
But if you want to score extraaaaa surprise points with your love, think of a small gesture you can do next week after Valentine’s.
Some simple ideas to get you started:
Bring home their favorite coffee / snack / food treat
Get flowers (not roses this time) & write a handwritten note
Frame a favorite photo of you two and set it out somewhere they’ll notice
Then the key is the text or words you say, something along the lines of:
“I don’t need Valentine’s to remind me to celebrate life with you, so thankful for us:)”
Yay!

Ahh yes one of the joys of remote mountain living. Currently working on figuring out who these thieves are stealing our mail. No power or cell service at our mailboxes so that gives me limited security camera options. Got this with a trail cam but it can’t get license plates.
Will see what I can cook up!
