Tonight’s Date Idea: It Starts with Your Favorite Song...

Home Date Night Idea

Build a new story together…

This date night will help get your creativity buzzing together! You are going to combine your favorite lines from songs and a book to cook up an entirely new story.

Each of you grab your favorite fiction book, along with looking up lyrics to one of your favorite songs.

Share your favorite lines with each other and decide which one should be the beginning of the story and which should be the end.

From there, write the beginning line down and take turns adding your own sentences with the goal of getting to the ending line.

Go for as long as you’d like, creating twists and turns in the story, or keep it short & sweet. The goal isn’t to have a story that makes perfect sense, but rather enjoy weaving a story together.

Read it aloud when you’re done!

Connecting Conversations

Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)

This weekend, try asking your significant other:

  • Where in your life do you feel overlooked?

  • Tell me what’s better: my hugs, my kisses, or my jokes? Why is that?

  • Are we fighting more, less or about the same as we used to in the past? Why do you think that is?

Thoughtful text idea

“Just wanted to hit the pause button today to tell you how grateful I am to be your spouse. I really admire [a specific detail about your partner / relationship].”

Just wanted to hit the pause button today to tell you how grateful I am to be your spouse. I really admire how you always look on the bright side of things. Love you.
