60 Second Challenge: One Word Story
Take turns saying one word at a time to build a story. See how ridiculous it gets in 60 seconds!
Personal Spark: What’s Your Odyssey Plan?
If you’ve ever felt a little lost, drifting or in a long funk this is a fun exercise to help reboot your zest for life.
Comes from Bill Burnett’s Designing Your Life book. Ali Abdaal also talks about it in Feel Good Productivity.
The question to explore is:
“What do you want your life to look like in five year’s time?”
Haha yes I know not revolutionary but how you answer below could unlock something magical.
Your Current Path: Write out, in detail, what your life would look like five years from now if you continued down your current path.
Your Alternative Path: Write out, in detail, what your life would look like five years from now if you took a completely different path.
Your Radical Path: Write out, in detail, what your life would look like five years from now if you took a completely different path, where money, social obligations and what people would think, were irrelevant.
The point isn’t that one of these is the ‘correct’ future.
The point is just to open your mind to new possibilities.
Too often we get caught in the routine and even worse in doing what we ‘think’ we ‘should’ be doing based on everyone else’s opinion. No no. All we care about here is what your heart truly desires.
If the first option ends up being what you genuinely, authentically want to go for - awesome! Rock on. But if this exercise helps you realize the path you’re on isn’t the path you want, now you have a starting point :)
This could be a fun connecting date night exercise if you both are open minded and willing to brainstorm together without judgement. No worries if not, it’s more important that you are able to ‘explore’ these paths without any editing or critique - especially from yourself!
Let me know if any insights pop up.
Connecting Conversations
“The quality of our conversations determines the quality of our life.”

This weekend, try asking your significant other these over coffee:
What conversation have you been putting off? Tell me how I can help.
If you could master any one skill instantly, what would it be?
What bridge do you not regret burning?
