Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
How important do you feel physical affection is for me? Explain.
What were you obsessed with as a child?
What do you find difficult to open up to me about, if anything?
Thoughtful Text Idea
Words are powerful but sound is sticky.
Sound (echoic retention) is what creates long-term memory, that’s why the average person can sing parts of over 1,000 songs they never intended to learn.
So today we are going to use the power of sound + your love to plant a nice memory for your SO.
Record up to a 60 second voice memo telling him/her one specific thing you noticed about them this week and send it at a random time when you’re not together. Zoom in to the details.
Example below, feel free to alter to fit your voice.
“You know I was thinking about how on Monday I couldn’t stop checking you out. MMM. It must have something to do with [new article of clothing, hairstyle, etc] you’ve been rocking. Here we are 4 days later and it’s still rattling around my brain. Ahh the things you do to me… I love it and love you.”
Mini-Date: Map Our Moments
Here’s a quick & easy mini date you can do together at the kitchen table:
Get 2 8×11.5 pieces of paper and lay them next to each other horizontally.
On left side put the year you started dating, then draw a line to the far right page and put 2026
One at at time, take turns marking a spot on the timeline (add the year or date) of a favorite memory of yours from the relationship and explain why
Keep going until you’ve each marked 3 spots
When finished, discuss / brainstorm how you could recreate or have more of those memories going forward
