The sweetest date night šŸ“

PLUS: Tools to help you tune up your relationship

Welcome to The Spark (by Hunter at Show Her Off Dance).

Every Thursday, Iā€™m going to send you a quick, five-minute email with fun date night ideas, conversation starters, and resources to help strengthen your relationship.

My goal is to help you and your partner have more fun, feel more closely connected and create more meaningful memories together (just like with Date Night Dancing).

Donā€™t want to receive the email? You can unsubscribe by clicking here.

Connecting Conversations

Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)

This weekend, try asking your significant other:

  • What is something most people don't understand about me that you LOVE?

  • If we had an entire day together to do whatever we wanted, what would you choose?

  • What compliments do you struggle to believe?

Have any questions that youā€™d suggest I include for future editions?

Reply to this email and let me know.

Date Night

This week is all about adding some sweetness to your date night.

This homemade dessert is fun, romantic, tasty and you can make it together.

Chocolate Dipped Romance šŸ“

Budget: $25

This sweet idea is an intimate finish to a dinner for two.

Chocolate dipped strawberries are a symbol of romance and what better way to eat them than to make the fondue together?

Youā€™ll need to pick up:

  • A package of semisweet or dark chocolate chips

  • Some milk (not skim)

  • Cream

  • Vanilla extract

  • Strawberries (or see below for alternative dipping ideas)

On the stove, combine everything but the vanilla in a saucepan on low heat, stirring often (donā€™t let it boil!).

Stir in the vanilla once all ingredients have melted.

If the consistency is too thick, add more milk and stir.

Alternatives to strawberries: bananas, marshmallows, small rice krispies squares or vanilla cookies.

Alternative to chocolate: caramel

Optional: feed each strawberry to your partner for the ultimate intimacy šŸ’•

For the full recipe and instructions, check out this blog post.

Iā€™d love to know if this idea sparked some romance for you!

The Love Lab

I love finding tools to help couples connect, have fun and get to know each other more deeply.

So when I came across an article on tools to ā€œtune upā€ your relationship, using a car metaphor, I had to share it with yā€™all.

The first tool really complements what I aim to do with Date Night Dancing: get out of neutral and find ways to put your relationship into gear.

This doesnā€™t have to mean making massive changes.

In fact, itā€™s often the small things that make all the difference.

When things become too comfortable and youā€™re only giving your partner whatever you have left at the end of the day, itā€™s a bit like falling asleep at the wheel.

Whatā€™s needed?

A spark (see what I did there?).

To get into drive, sometimes all you need is a small gesture or a creative date night, an effort to show each other that youā€™re willing to keep the engine going.

Something as small as looking at your partner in the eye, with no distractions, and feeding them a chocolate dipped strawberry šŸ˜‰

Start there and see if it sparks the engine.

There are 7 more tools in this article, which I encourage you to read.

Hereā€™s to never having the car stuck in neutral! šŸš—

Thatā€™s it for this weekā€™s edition of The Spark :)

Put this editionā€™s ideas to work this weekend, and see first-hand how small, intentional acts can transform your relationship.

Keep the sparkā€™s flying,

Hunter Masters

Director of Romance
