Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
Who is your favorite relative?
How do you think you’ve improved in the past year?
What decision do you wish you had made sooner than you did?
Date Idea: First Date Song Hijack
This is a fun way to relive the butterflies you both felt when you first started dating.
Sit down together (with pen an paper) and reminisce about the first time you met and how you became a couple. Write down notes and try to use sensory details (ie - think about all 5 of your senses and what you were experiencing).
Choose a fun song you both like and pull up the lyrics to use as a guide. Starting with the chorus (it’s usually easier to start here) write your love story as a song parody - replacing the existing lyrics with your own.
Brainstorm together as you go through this and try to keep the same vowel sounds as the original lyrics if you really want a challenge.
Things to consider / help with lyric ideas:
Where did you meet?
What were you wearing?
First impressions?
What happened on first date?
Who was around?
What season was it? Month?
What city / state?
After you’ve finished writing your love song parody together if you’re feeling extra silly you can pull up a karaoke version of the original song and sing it together (don’t worry you don’t have to record it haha)
Have fun!
