Plan a trip together this year
Diving deeper into introversion and extroversion
Welcome to The Spark (by Hunter at Show Her Off Dance).
Every Thursday, I’m going to send you a quick, five-minute email with fun date night ideas, conversation starters, and resources to help strengthen your relationship.
My goal is to help you and your partner have more fun, feel more closely connected and create more meaningful memories together (just like with Date Night Dancing).

Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
What single choice had the greatest impact on your life?
Describe a positive change you've seen in me since you met me?
Describe a life changing moment we have gone through together.
Have any questions that you’d suggest I include for future editions?
Reply to this email and let me know.
Date Night
Looking ahead in 2024: how about planning a trip together?
On your next date night, sit down and plan some kind of a trip.
It could be a romantic staycation, a short weekend getaway or an international adventure 🏖️
And don’t just talk theoretically about it!
Ask each other insightful questions about what you like and dislike, how you prefer to travel, getting to know each other more deeply with each question.
Budget: free
Here are some questions you can ask to get started:
What region or country have you always wanted to visit? What makes it so appealing?
Where would you go again and why?
Are you a slow traveler or an itinerary-let’s-go-go-go kind of person?
If we book 1 extra special dinner out, which restaurant would it be and why?
For other meals, choose a few favourites you’ve each found online and walk through why those places are attractive to you.
What is your dream accommodation in this location? Find an example to share.
How do you want to spend your time? Look up some day trips or resort amenities. Find out what your partner truly loves to do when they’re not in their home routine.
Use the questions above to look at specific hotels, tours and beaches, and share what you like and dislike about each one.
You’ll likely come away from this knowing much more about your partner, and probably learn some things that’ll surprise you 😊
I’d love to hear where you’re planning to go!
The Love Lab
Let’s talk about introverts and extroverts aka energy!
It’s a simple concept to understand for yourself and can be super helpful for couples to understand each other.
Extroversion is thought of as someone who’s outgoing, is talkative and has high energy in social situations. They draw energy from being with people.
Conversely, introversion is defined as preferring the inner life of the mind over the outer world. They gain energy from being alone.
Of course, it’s not as simple as that.
Most people have characteristics of both traits (e.g. you might know a shy extrovert, a social introvert or someone who is equally balanced in both, termed ambivert).
To find out more about yourself and go beyond the basics of the concept, Psychology Today has an Extroversion Introversion Test you can take.
Once you’ve done it, compare your results with your partner’s.
If you’re both leaning in different directions, this article can be helpful in navigating what that means for your relationship.
I also found this article helpful on the topic: 3 Obstacles To Expect From an Introvert-Extrovert Relationship.
Have fun exploring your own trait, as well as that of your partner.
Knowing how to navigate your energy differences can be a valuable part of connecting more deeply 💞
That’s it for this week’s edition of The Spark :)
Put this edition’s ideas to work this weekend, and see first-hand how small, intentional acts can transform your relationship.
Keep the spark’s flying,
