Connecting Conversations

Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)

This weekend, try asking your significant other:

  • What has been your greatest source of excitement lately?

  • How can we be better partners when it comes to decision making?

  • What do you regret not doing when you were a teenager?

Thoughtful Text Idea

Send your partner a quick text using the following prompt:

I wanted to thank you for [something they did in the past 7 days]. It really made me feel [briefly describe the positive feeling(s) you experienced as a result]. I love you.

For example:

Thank you for making lunch for me last Friday. It really made me feel taken care of, loved and FULL - yummy :). I loveeee you!

Date Night Idea: Memory Lane Magic

When I look back at old photos, I’m always flooded with memories.

They bring back energy, emotions and reminders of good times.

Guess that’s why I’m also a photographer (check out my free nature photos)

So for this date night idea, let’s make it all about the pics 📸

No matter how long you’ve been together, I bet you’ve taken a few photos of you and your partner, right?

For those who’ve been together for a long time, you may want to split this idea into several date nights over the year.

After a nice dinner, grab a glass of something yummy and start going through the photos together - agree on a year (ie 2015) and start looking through those photos.

If you can, airplay them to your TV or computer for a more immersive experience :)

The simple act of going through them together might be enough to spark conversations and re-experience the highs of those moments together.

Here’s what I suggest if you want to keep going:

  1. Choose one year/season/trip and create a collage that represents that period

  2. Canva has some great (free) templates to make these look professional

  3. If you want to prepare ahead, you can combine them all in a slideshow with music

  4. Don’t worry about finishing! If you find yourselves talking more about the memories themselves, postpone the collage and keep the conversation going

Optional: If you want you can use one of the many online photo book companies to turn this date night into a coffee table momento :)
