Connecting Conversations

Merry Christmas!!

When the chaos is over here are some questions to help you two reflect and chat about how it all went for you:

  • Next Christmas, I hope we’re proud that we…

  • One tradition I want us to protect is…

  • One thing from this year I don’t want to repeat is…

  • Next Christmas, I want our home to feel more…

  • One small thing we can start in January to move toward that is…

Optional: drop it in a shared note titled:

“Next Christmas, Us… Open December 25, 2026.”

Date Idea: The “Do Nothing” Night

Christmas is full. People. Presents. Noise. Dishes. Group texts. Weeeeee!

This week, give yourselves one night that is for... doing almost nothing.

Step 1: Pick your Do Nothing Night
Look at the next 7 days and decide together

Step 2: Set the rules (simple ones)
ie - Your Do Nothing Night is:

No family plans
No social events
No house projects
Phones away for at least 30–60 minutes

Also:
Takeout or easy food
Comfy clothes
One low-effort shared thing (movie, show, board game, puzzle, music + couch)

Step 3: Add one tiny connection moment
At some point that night, ask each other:

“What part of this past week drained you the most?”

“What part of it made you feel closest to me?”

That’s it. No big resolutions. Just a little breathing room to recharge from the holiday madness together.

Connection Boost: 3 Tiny Thank-Yous

Sometime this week, slip your significant other these three specific thank-you‘s. You can say them, write them in a note, or text them.

  1. Thank you for something you did

    • “Thank you for __________. I noticed it, and it really made me feel ______. You’re the best!”

  2. Thank you for how you supported me

    • “Thank you for having my back with __________. It made me feel like we are team.”

  3. Thank you for who you are

    • “Thank you for being the kind of person who __________. I really love that about you.”

Easy to do, also easy not to do, up to you :)
