Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
If we weren’t in a relationship, what pickup line would you use with me?
What’s something most people haven’t done but you have?
If our relationship was a Netflix series what would it be called? What episode are we on?
Your Personal Spark: DELETED
What, if anything, have you deleted from your life lately?
I’ve been noodling on the 2nd step in Elon Musk’s 5 step process for improvement:
Delete the part or process
“If you’re not adding things back in at least 10% of the time, you’re clearly not deleting enough.”’
You can apply this to your schedule, screen time, meals, meal prep, errands, morning or evening routine… the list is endless.
If your relationship or personal goals are falling to the bottom of your to-do list, it might be a good time to try deleting one (or more) things this week. The adding stuff back in 10% of time is a good litmus test.
I’ve been working on deleting meetings, email responses and screen time lately. So far I’ve deleted alcohol for 2026. Definitely finding more time which is great, but I feel I have more cuts to make.
What’s something you want to try deleting?
Date Idea: Travel Agent Date
Time: 30-60 minutes
Location: Home
Cost: Free
Set aside 30-60 minutes of focused time together at the kitchen table with your laptops or tablets. You’re going to plan a fantasy summer vacation!
Determine the fantasy budget for the trip
Each of you spend the first half of the date researching and planning what you feel is the best summer vacation idea. You don’t have to get into the weeds, just the location, how you’d get there and 1-3 things you do is good enough (stay within your budget)
Once finished, you each present the vacation idea to the other trying to ‘sell’ them on it. You can be as flirtatious/persuasive as you’d like ;)
Whoever planned the trip that sounds the most fun wins
optional: If it sounds really really fun, what would it take to make that trip happen? Maybe not this summer, but next?
