Fun questions to ask your significant other
Welcome to The Spark (by Hunter at Show Her Off Dance).
Every Thursday, Iâm going to send you a quick, five-minute email with fun date night ideas, conversation starters, and resources to help strengthen your relationship.
My goal is to help you and your partner have more fun, feel more closely connected and create more meaningful memories together (just like with Date Night Dancing).
Connecting Conversations
Sometimes a great question is all you need to start a meaningful conversation :)
This weekend, try asking your significant other:
Do you feel like we work as a team making decisions?
What big decision in your life felt scary at the time, but looking back was the best one you could have made?
What can I do to help you feel more loved?
Have any questions that youâd suggest I include for future editions?
Reply to this email and let me know.
Date Night
Being creative is such a great way to spark energy and connection đ
So how about bringing out your inner artist this week?
Honestly, even if you donât have a natural artistic ability, this date night idea will be a blast!
Paint and Sip
Bring the painting experience to your place by creating an at-home studio.
Think Bob Ross, not Picasso.
Just add your favorite drink and youâll be on your way to creating an evening to rememberđźď¸
What youâll need:
2 canvases
Paint
Brushes
Disposable tablecloth
Water containers for brushes
Paper towels
Paper plates for paint palettes
Aprons or something to protect your clothes
Hair dryer optional (to dry paint layers faster)
Budget: $40 (paint items can be found at craft stores but also at dollar stores and on Amazon)
This YouTube channel has a playlist of beginner videos, each with clear instructions and a list of supplies specific to what youâll be painting.
So whatâll it be: painting cute cats perhaps, or a naturescape?
The Love Lab
Whatâs one of the easiest ways to connect with someone else?
Laugh together!
It instantly creates a bond, releases endorphins and increases other opioid peptides related to pleasure.
And it feels good, right? đ
In fact, this marriage counselor had an impromptu cheese fight with his wife when they were in a bit of a funk.
And presto â contagious laughter! Their grudge was quickly forgotten.
Laughter can put tension and anxiety on the backburner, it can lighten the mood when youâre stressed and it can add freshness to a relationship that needs a reboot.
How do you add more laughter to your life?
Be silly, find opportunities to be playful, find your fave comedians or funny shows to watch together, says this article.
Or fart, says this article đ¤ˇ
For guaranteed laughter, sign up for my NEW coupleâs program starting in April (see below).
âLaughter is the shortest distance between two people.â
Thatâs it for this weekâs edition of The Spark :)
Put this editionâs ideas to work this weekend, and see first-hand how small, intentional acts can transform your relationship.
Keep the sparkâs flying,
Hunter Masters
